You can really see how warped life here is when the ending of examinations sparks off cries of ‘freedom, freedom’.

Don’t they understand that the chance to study in itself is a blessing.

Life does not suck because you have 3 projects and 1 essay.

Let’s get some perspective.

Always be thankful for the roses before they wilt.

It is only when met with obstacles does one find the courage within.

For you never know how strong you are, until being strong is the only option you have.

Amidst this struggle, this arduous battle of a paperchase,

I hope for the strength to carry on,

and to still recognize myself when the race has been ran.

One day I will leave all this behind to be free

Everytime I hear a French conversation I get reminded of the time I betrayed my pursuit of passion for an easier grade point average and a 4 day week.

There’s this Asian American exchange student girl in my project group, and on Saturday in the midst of discussion she asked us,

“Why are people studying during Spring break?”

At that point in time I realized how sad and soulless university life has become.
